Alice R. Vroman

Alice R. Vroman, 83, passed away on Tuesday, April 7, 2020 at Fox Hospital Nursing Home in Oneonta. Born on June 12, 1936 in Stamford, Alice was the daughter of the late Leona and Alta (VanDusen) Smith. She worked for several years as a blender at the former Graham Laboratory (Mallindkrodt) in Hobart, retiring in 2002. Alice volunteered on the Hobart Emergency Squad and with the Hobart Fire Dept. Auxiliary. She enjoyed crocheting, reading romance novels, baking, shopping, gardening and growing beautiful flower beds. Alice’s greatest joy was spending time with her family, her children and grandchildren were very special to her. Besides her husband Paul, Alice was predeceased by her sister: Leona Wynkoop; and son-in-law: Charles Turk. She is survived by her children: Lynn Vroman of Saugerties, Linda Hawk of Delhi, Rodney (Lynn) Vroman of Palenville and Cindy Turk of South Carolina; a sister: Betty (David) Ogborn of Harpersfield; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. A celebration of life and time of sharing will be held at a time and date to be announced. Burial will be at North Kortright Cemetery.
