Barbara Barnes

Barbara M. Barnes passed away July 25th, 2016. She joined her husband, Robert Barnes, on the anniversary of his passing. She was thankful for all her family and friends who visited but she was ready to dance with Bobby again. Barbara was a long time resident of Davenport, NY and grew up involved with the Davenport United Methodist Church. She graduated from Charlotte Valley and then went to Binghamton University where she received her Associates Degree in Accounting. She married the love of her life on June 22nd, 1956 and they spent their time traveling, enjoying NASCAR races, and their family. Barbara was an exceptional baker and she was known for her pies. Her smile was unforgettable and brightened anyone's day. She is survived by her daughter Victoria Porteus (Jeff), grand-daughters Sunny McDermott (Jonathan) and Brittany Baxendale (Jacob), three great-grandchildren Aurora, Morgan and Johnny McDermott, nephew Timothy Peet (Jennifer) and niece Lynda Rathbun (LeRoy). Celebration of life will be held at Davenport United Methodist Church on August 10th, 2016 at 11 am. Burial will follow at Davenport Cemetery.
