Barbara J. Sargent

Barbara J. Sargent, 90, a 74-year resident of Irish Hill Road, Delhi passed away on January 20, 2021 at Robinson Terrace in Stamford, where she has resided since August 25, 2020. Born on August 28, 1930 in Vincennes, IN, the daughter of the late Dallas and Oase Neighbors. Barbara was married to Robert C. Sargent, Sr. on April 2, 1946 in Oneonta, the couple was married for 65 years, until Robert’s passing on August 24, 2011. She was a loving mom, grandmother and great-grandmother. Barbara is survived by her children: Carol (Howard) Fessenden of Laurens, Cora (Robert Hailston) Mueller of Bloomville, Mary Ann (Leon) Merrill of Hamden, Roberta (Carl) Edholm of Oneonta and Robert (Beverly) Sargent, Jr., of Delhi; ten grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren. Barbara’s family would like to express a special thank you to Kathy W. from Robinson Terrace for her loving care to their mom and they would like to thank all the nurses, doctors and caregivers while she was at Robinson Terrace. Graveside services will be held at 11AM on Saturday, August 28, 2021 at the Woodland Cemetery, Delhi. Contributions in memory of Barbara may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
