Beverley (Tuthill) Vergason

Beverley (Staub) Tuthill Vergason, 102, was born November 5, 1923, in Binghamton, NY.

She graduated from Chenango Forks High School in 1941, then she graduated from Nyack Missionary Training Institute in 1949.

She served as a home missions’ worker in the Ozark Mountains in Arkansas (1949-1950). She Pastored the Christian and Missionary Alliance Chapel in Meridale, NY in (1950-1953).

She married David Tuthill Sr. in 1951, and they bought a home in Treadwell, NY in 1953. They had two Children, David Tuthill Jr. and Beverly “Honeybee” Tuthill.

She worked at SUNY Delhi for CADI until 1986 and worked as a food sampler in Oneonta and in stores in Winter Haven, FL where Tuthill’s bought a winter home.

Her life has been ministering in many positions in churches, speaking, and teaching throughout the years.

After the death of her first husband, she married Leon Vergason from Greene, NY who was a longtime family friend in 2003. She was a great prayer warrior for family, friends, missionaries and churches. Beverley continued speaking even into her eighties.

Predeceased are her two husbands, David Tuthill, Sr. and Leon Vergason.

Surviving her are her children: David (Deborah) Tuthill and Beverly “Honeybee” Tuthill; her grandchildren: Kathleen (Matthew) Albright from Delhi, NY, Joshua (Wendi) Tuthill from Richmond, VA, and Thomas Tuthill of Oneonta, NY; 6 great grandchildren: Jacob Tuthill, Mikayla Tuthill, Kian Tuthill, Addison Albright, Cullen Tuthill and Micah Albright.

She also had the gift of evangelism and would often be found sharing the Gospel in aisles at the store and later in life when she had visitors and salespersons in her home she would share the Good News of Jesus with them. One of her favorite ministries was volunteering a Delta Lake Bible Conference Center in the summer working in the office.

A Celebration of her 102 years on this earth will be held at 2:00PM on Sunday, April 26, 2026 at the Delhi Alliance Church, 16178 State Highway 28, Delhi, NY 13753.
