Bonnie G. Drake, 73, of Oneonta, passed away on Sunday, December 20, 2015 at Bassett Medical Center, Cooperstown, surrounded by her family. Born on March 30, 1942 in Delhi, Bonnie was the daughter of the late James and Nellie (Every) Gabriel. Bonnie worked as a Licensed Practical Nurse, first at O'Connor Hospital in Delhi and later at AO Fox Hospital in Oneonta. She was a devoted Episcopalian and was a lifelong member of St. Paul's Church in Bloomville, she also volunteered as a missionary over the years, serving as a nurse in the Dominican Republic. In her younger years, Bonnie enjoyed camping. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and also enjoyed the companionship of her dog, Beau and cat, Fred. She is survived by her children: John (Dianne) Drake of Bloomville, James (Patti Cobb) Drake of South Carolina, Kenneth (Tara) Drake of Constania, and Kelly (Jeff Merwin) Gardepe of Jefferson; grandchildren: Lauren, Derek, Cody, Jason, Katie, Mallory and Amanda; four great-grandchildren; Brothers: Anthony (Norma) Gabriel of Bovina and David Gabriel of North Carolina; one sister: Barbara Gorsch of Vernon Center; one uncle, John (Loreen) Every of Bloomville; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Friends and relatives are invited to call on the family from 4-7PM on Wednesday, December 30, 2015 at the MacArthur Funeral Home, 40 Cornell Ave., Hobart. Funeral services will be held at 11AM on Saturday, January 2, 2016 at St. Paul's Church, Bloomville with Father RL Donahue officiating. Spring burial will be at Riverside Cemetery, Bloomville. Contributions in memory of Bonnie can be made to Make-A-Wish Northeast New York, 3 Washington Square, Albany, NY 12205 .
