Bruce C. Van Duser

Bruce C. Van Duser, 69, of Harpersfield, passed away suddenly at his home on Tuesday, January 27, 2026.

Born on September 7, 1956, in Stamford, NY, Bruce was the son of the late George and Betty (Tompkins) Van Duser.

Bruce worked as a mechanic and truck driver for most of his career, he retired due to illness as a mechanic from Searles Garage in Davenport.

He enjoyed playing horseshoes and loved working on cars and machinery, often doing repairs for family and friends. Bruce also spent many years as a volunteer in the Stamford Fire Department, where he created many friendships while providing aid to the community.

Bruce is survived by his wife: Candy (Merwin) Van Duser of Harpersfield, NY; son: Darin Van Duser of Maryland, NY; brothers: Tom Van Duser of Prattsville, NY and Don Van Duser of Texas; along with several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A celebration of Bruce’s life is being planned for the spring and will be announced later.
