Carolyn Kirby

Carolyn Kirby 10/26/1925-- 5/27/2019 Our Mother, Carolyn Marjorie Halliday, was born in Hempstead Long Island. In 1943 she met the love of her life, Rollie C. Kirby. A tall handsome, soft spoken soldier from Oklahoma. He was stationed at Mitchel Field (Long Island) and after a whirlwind romance, he swept her off her feet, married her and then moved upstate to Delhi New York. They settled down on a farm on Scotch Mountain and proceeded to raise their 10 children. Jackie, Drew, Claudia, Rollie Debbie, Dale Lynn, Kelly. Mike and Jodie. The house was very lively and busy to say the least. Mom loved to cook and sew and adopt all creatures large and small. She always welcomed our friends, the more the merrier. She loved to dance and was the life of the party. We all grew up and left home to start families of our own. We blessed her with 29 grandchildren, 31 Great grandchildren and 6 great, great grandchildren. She has 1 niece and 1 great niece and nephew. We will all miss her and her positive happy spirit and great love for each and every one of us. So we must not cry because she has died...…..We must smile because she lived. Rest now our little mama you have earned it. Carolyn was predeceased by her Daughter: Kathleen (1945); Nephew: Jamie; Husband: Rollie (9/9/2013) and Great Grandson; Shawn KIA (4/28/2014) A memorial service will be held at 12 noon on Saturday, July 13, 2019 at the First Presbyterian Church, 4 Clinton Street, Delhi, NY.
