Carolyn L. Post, 79, of Hobart, NY, went to her home in heaven on Monday, February 23, 2026, to be with her daughter, Jill; sister, Marj Lant; parents: Fred and Ruth Lant; and her in-laws, Donald and Helen Post.
Carolyn enjoyed spending time being barefoot, with her family, tending to her garden, making quilts, harvesting fruit and vegetables to can and freeze for winter, making the best pies, milking the best cows and being a dedicated fan of South Kortright Sports.
She was born the week of the Chemung County Fair and spent almost every year celebrating at the Delaware County Fair.
Carolyn was very proud to be a farmer and to be able to continue farming on the Post Bicentennial Farm, passing the love of dairy farming onto the next generation.
She was passionate about the Holstein Breed and was an active member of the Delaware County Holstein Club for over 60 years. Carolyn humbly dedicated her time to the local 4H and Holstein Clubs, for the last 27 years she donated the Master Showman Award supplying a homemade quilt. Carolyn was also extremely proud that her family was the recipient of the New York State Holstein Master Breeder Award for three generations running.
She is survived by her husband of 60 years: David Post; children: Warren Post, Andy & Betty Ann Post, Carolee & Allen McClure, Lorelle and Eric Sherman; grandchildren: Henry, Anna (Samuel), Preston, Randy, Rose (Chad), Brett, Andrew (Cassie), Ethan, Carl, Ella, Lance, Daniel and Lena; great-grandchildren: Brantley and Grady; brothers: Walter Lant, Ross and Shirley Lant, and Martin and Rhonda Lant; sister-in-law: Patty Brink; along with several nieces and nephews.
A private funeral service will be held at the Township Community Church; burial will take place in the Township Cemetery in the spring. Friends and relatives are invited to celebrate Carolyn’s life from 1-4PM on Sunday, March 1, 2026 at the Delhi Fire Department, 140 Delview Terrace Ext., Delhi, NY 13753
