Charles "Charlie" Kopfman

Charles “Charlie” Kopfman of Stamford, passed away peacefully on June 4, 2024, after a brief hospitalization.

He was born on July 10, 1929, in Cooperstown, NY to Charles Kopfman and M. Anita Newell.

Charlie married Patricia Roseboom in 1954 and was predeceased by her in 2015.

He remained in the Cooperstown area until 1963 when his job with NY Telephone Company required a move to Stamford, NY. Charlie retired from the Telephone Co after many years of service.

He was a proud veteran of the US Army and then went on to serve in the Army Reserves.

Charlie joined the Stamford Fire Department in May of 1976 and received several awards for dedication and loyal services. He maintained his membership until his death.

He is survived by his daughters: Barbara (Jerry) McSwain of Norman, OK and Diane (Glenn) Thompson of Broadalbin, NY. Charlie also has a sister: Beverly Eggleston of Harpursville, NY. He is also survived by his grandsons: Kurt (Meghan) and Garrett (Megan) Thompson. 3 great granddaughters Madeline, Amelia, Ada and a great grandson arriving in the fall. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Charlie is also survived by his feline companions: Piper and Mandy.

Per his wishes there will not be any services or memorials.
