Charles Reed

Charles E. Reed, 79, of Harpersfield passed away on August 9, 2019 at his home following a long illness, surrounded by his family. Born on September 30, 1939 in the Town of Kortright, Charles was the son of the late Charles C. and Shirley (Church) Reed. He was a lifetime resident of Delaware County, growing up in Hobart and moving to Harpersfield, that is where he owned his business as a television technician, selling and repairing new and used TV’s and appliances. He also was one of the first to offer the large TV Satellites. Charles loved spending time with people, he enjoyed flowers and animals and always was ready to offer a helping hand to anyone in need. Besides his parents, He was predeceased by a nephew: Allen and a niece: Terry. Charles is survived by his wife: Mary B. Reed; three daughters: Deborah (Cliff) Mueller, Stephanie (Bob) Sitts and Cindy (Mark) Miller; grandchildren: Dustin, Stacy, Britney and Michael; two great-grandchildren; three sisters: Mary (Herb) Hait, Annie (Dan) Ayala and Kitty Rapant; three step-children: Richard (Jana) Merwin, Jillian (Mike) Manico and Timothy (Nicole) Merwin; seven step-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins; and special family friend: Anna Mae Collins.
