Christine Comfort

Christine A. Comfort, 64, of Bovina Center, passed away October 24, 2017 at Bassett Medical Center in Cooperstown surrounded by her family. Born on September 12, 1953 in Margaretville, She was the daughter of Lester and Janet (Havens) Stewart. Christine has worked for over 43 years at O’Connor Hospital where she started in 1973. She was married to John L. Comfort on June 12, 1982. Christine could often be found behind the camera taking pictures or video and capturing memories at family gatherings. Her greatest joy was her family, she was a caring wife, loving mother and proud grandmother. Christine was a gifted cook and one way she showed her love for family and friends by always making sure no one went away hungry. She is survived by her husband: John of Bovina Center, parents: Lester and Janet Stewart of Bovina Center; daughter: Carrie (Cody) Weber of Bovina Center; grandchildren: Zachary and Evan Weber of Bovina Center; sisters: Connie Finkle of Bovina Center, Carol Hall of Bloomville and Cathy Balcom of Downsville; brother: Cliff (Ellen) Stewart of Bovina; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Friends and relatives are invited to call on the family from 4-7PM on Friday, October 27, 2017 at the Hall & Peet Funeral Home, 134 Main St., Delhi. Funeral services will be held at 10AM on Saturday, October 28, 2017 at Bovina Presbyterian Church, Bovina Center with the Rev. Garrett Schindler officiating, burial will follow at Bovina Cemetery.
