Daniel Joseph Archbold

Devoted husband, cherished father, grandfather and loyal friend, Daniel Joseph Archbold, 64, of Stamford, NY, passed away unexpectedly on June 17, 2024. Born on November 27, 1959 in Brooklyn, he was the son of the late Joseph and Ruth (Ritchie) Archbold.


He dedicated over 25 years of service as a firefighter to the FDNY and the people of New York. Daniel retired in 2005 from Ladder 134 in Far Rockaway, Queens, NY. He fiercely loved his FDNY brothers and his community.


Daniel was known for his gregarious personality and spirit. He spent his time tending to his garden, teaching himself photography and guitar, reading, and writing lyrics and poetry. He was a music lover and attended hundreds of concerts, festivals and gigs over his lifetime. He always had one of his labradors - Riley, Aragon, and Jack, by his side.


He will be deeply missed by all.


He is survived by his wife: Debra (Schuber) Archbold of Stamford; children: Ian Archbold of Los Angles, CA, Bryan (Kelly) Archbold of Newburgh, NY, Daniel (Lauren) Setnikar of Cortlandt Manor, NY, and Allison (Nate) Contente of Kirkland, WA; grandchildren: Mae Setnikar and Ruth Archbold; siblings: William (Dea) Archbold of Germantown, NY, Joyce Archbold of Ridge, NY, Robert (Janet) Archbold of Deer Park, NY, and Nancy (Tom) King of Monticello, NY; along with several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.


A Celebration of Life will take place on July 13th at 2:00 pm. Bagpipe ceremony commencing at 3:00pm. 670 Decker Rd, Stamford.
