Dawn Hobbie Mainville

Dawn B. (Hobbie) Mainville, 78, of South Colonie, NY, formerly of Bovina Center, NY, passed away at her home on Sunday, September 27, 2026.

Born on October 8, 1947, in Delhi, NY, Dawn was the daughter of the late Glenn J. and Anna (Boggs) Hobbie, Sr.

She was married to Daniel J. Mainville and the couple settled in the Albany area.

Dawn worked as a legal secretary for the office of Thuillez, Ford, Gold, Butler and Young in Albany until her retirement.

She loved the outdoors, nature and was an avid deer hunter. Dawn was a baseball fan, always cheering on the New York Yankees. She enjoyed traveling and taking cruises, bowling, trying her luck at the casino and dinners at the Olive Garden. Dawn also loved animals and the companionship of her faithful rescue puppy: Rosie.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her brothers: Montie and Glenn Jr.

Dawn is survived by her husband of 35 years: Daniel Mainville of South Colonie, NY; daughter: Ashley Mainville of Colonie; brother: Jack Hobbie of Delhi; along with several nieces, nephews and cousins.

A service will be held at 12 Noon on Thursday, October 8, 2026, at the Bovina Presbyterian Church, 2128 County Hwy 6, Bovina Center, NY 13740, followed by burial at Bovina Cemetery, Bovina Center, NY.
