Diane Lynn Fairbairn

Diane Lynn Fairbairn, 60, of Harpersfield, passed away on Wednesday, January 22, 2025, at Bassett Medical Center, Cooperstown following a courageous battle with cancer.

Born on October 5, 1964, in Copiague, NY, she was the daughter of the late Frederick and Shirley (Stiffel) Marangio.

Diane worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant at Robinson Terrace in Stamford and also worked as a home health aide over the years.

She enjoyed music, good wine and loved her pets and animals. Diane also loved dragonflies. She faced cancer with grace and humor, leaving a legacy of laughter in the hearts of most who know her.

Diane is survived by her husband: Victor Fairbairn of Harpersfield; children: Tara (Kenny Palmatier) Fairbairn of Stamford; Michael Fairbairn of Prattsville and John (Ashley Utter) Fairbairn of Stamford; three grandchildren: Andrew Palmatier, Hennessy and Roman Mark; siblings: Donna Simko, Kim Marangio, Kris Perez, Frederick Marangio, and Karen Alloro; several nieces, nephews and cousins; along with several close friends that were like family.

A celebration of Diane’s life is being planned for a later date.
