Douglas L. Jones

Douglas Jones, 63, of Hobart, formerly of Delhi, NY, passed away on Wednesday evening, December 17, 2025 at his home surrounded by his family.

Born on September 9, 1962 in Walton, NY, Douglas was the son of the Albert and Iona (Bailey) Jones.

Doug worked various careers in his life, dairy farming at a young age, then working for over 20 years for the Village of Delhi DPW and also for the Delaware County ARC and following his retirement he continued to work for Bloomville Disposal.

He was an avid outdoorsman, Doug enjoyed hunting and being out in nature. He also enjoyed cooking, gardening and bowling. One of his greatest pleasures was going out for breakfast with his family and friends.

Doug was predeceased by his father: Albert Jones.

He is survived by his wife: Laura Jones; children Myrette Jones of Hamden and Aiden Jones of Delhi; his mother: Iona Jones of Hobart; brothers: Dale Jones of Bloomville and Rick (Joyce) Jones of Hobart; along with several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Calling hours will be held from noon-2PM on Tuesday, December 23, 2025, at the MacArthur Funeral Home, 134 Main Street, Delhi, NY, where a service will follow at 2PM.
