Douglas B. Merwin

Douglas Brian Merwin also known to many as Doug or Dougie passed away peacefully at AO Fox Hospital Tuesday January 7,2025.

Doug could often be found outside tinkering on something from lawn mowers to motorcycles, cars, heavy equipment and his big rigs. He had a love for fast cars and Harley Davidson motorcycles.

He was the best "Poppy" and “Pop” to his grand children and great grandchildren and loved them immensely.

Doug is survived by his wife of 50 years Mildred and his daughters Amy and Lisa. Grandchildren Kaylyn, Alexis, Paige, Shaelah and Devon

Great grandchildren Hayden, Aaliyah, Kade, Carter and Noah.

Nephews William, Robert and Raymond and many great neices great nephews and cousins.

Douglas was predeceased by parents Josephine and George, brother Owen and beloved grandson Eric.

Calling hours will be held from 3-6PM on Saturday, January 11, 2025 at MacArthur Funeral Home, 15 Buntline Drive, Stamford, NY. A celebration of Doug’s life will be announced at a later date.

In lieu of flowers contributions in memory of Doug can be made to the Eric Merwin Scholarship Fund at Charlotte Valley Central School, Davenport, NY
