Edward Dewitt

Edward DeWitt born October 4, 1926 in Delhi, went to be with Jesus on October 18, 2018. Ed was born in the house that is next door to our present home and he Lived the majority of his life in Delhi. A WWII veteran, Ed proudly served in the Army Air Corp stationed in Germany. Mr. DeWitt was a dedicated member with the Delhi Fire Department and Emergency Squad for over 50 years. He was employed by the State of NY Dept of transportation for 38 years. Ed was a Stage 4 cancer survivor of 15 years. He was preceded in death by his parents May and Charles DeWitt and his only son Eddie. Survived by his wife Jeanette of 67years; daughters: Rochelle (Daniel) Lynch, Gail (Pierson)Smith and Donna (Philip) Elena; his grandchildren: Christopher Elena, Stephanie Lynch, Elizabeth DeWitt and Tre' Smith; and great-grandchildren Madison and Mason Elena, Lucianna and Brayson Arenas. A celebration of Ed’s life and firematic services will be held at 3PM on Saturday, November 17, 2018 at the Delhi Fire Department, 140 Delview Terrace Extension, Delhi. Private burial will take place at Woodland Cemetery, Delhi. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Delhi Fire Department or to Delhi EMS.
