Edward Dewitt

Eddie passed away on December 15, 2016 at the age of 58. Eddie was born March 10, 1958 in Delhi, New York. Eddie was a long-time resident of Walton, New York. Eddie attended and graduated from Delaware Academy. He served his country in the National Guard for eight years. He worked for the New York State Department of Transportation for twenty years. Eddie was known for his sense of humor, bear hugs, and his jokes. He always tried to see the best in everyone and was always willing to help anyone in need. His greatest joys were looking forward to the annual hunting trips with his father, and his mother's home cooking. He is survived by his parents Edward and Jeanette DeWitt of Delhi, New York; his three sisters Rochelle (Dan) Lynch of Greenfield Center, New York; Gail (Pierson) Smith of Everett, Washington; Donna (Philip) Elena of Kingston, Washington; his uncle Charles Cox of Denver, Colorado; his daughter Elizabeth DeWitt; grandchildren Luciana and Bryson; his longtime friend Marilyn Weiner; his niece Stephanie Lynch; nephews Christopher Elena and Tre' Smith; as well as many cousins and friends. In lieu of flowers please make donations to the Delhi Fire Department. A celebration of Eddie's life will be planned for a later date. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of MacArthur Funeral Home, Delhi.
