Edward Finkenberg

~~Edward A. Finkenberg, died peacefully early on Tuesday morning, June 27, 2017 in Delhi, NY at age 95. He is survived by his wife, Sandra, three sons, four daughters, their spouses, and 11 beautiful grandchildren. Edward was born on July 9, 1921 in Manhattan, NY. After assisting in the management of his family's furniture business, Finkenberg and Sons, he attended Columbia and Brown Universities. During WWII he served in the Navy, participating in D Day. He was a champion of human rights, an advocate for people with disabilities, an innovator, and entrepreneur. His children remember him as an elegant man and stoic father who encouraged them to follow their dreams with courage, integrity, and compassion for those in need. He will be dearly missed by many. A Celebration of Life will be held at 11AM on Thursday, June 29, 2017 at the Hall and Peet Funeral Home, 134 Main Street, Delhi. Burial with full military honors will follow at Bovina Cemetery.
