Edward Knopfle

Edward Knopfle, 97, passed away July 12, 2016 at O'Connor Hospital in Delhi, following a short illness. Mr. Knopfle was born in New York City to Stephan and Lena Knopfle, immigrants from Germany. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II for three and a half years, where he was awarded a Purple Heart and a Bronze Star. After retiring, he and his wife. Irene, moved to Andes from their home in New Jersey. Irene Knopfle predeceased her husband in 1995. A memorial service will be held at 11AM on Saturday, July 23, 2016 at the Andes Presbyterian Church 70 Delaware Avenue, Andes.
