Elsie Marie Short

Elsie Marie Short of Andes, NY passed away February 17, 2022 at the age of 96, surrounded by her loving family.

Elsie, originally from Massapequa Park NY, moved to Andes in 1987 to start a new life.

She worked at Equitable Insurance where she met her future husband.

Elsie always put everybody ahead of herself and the love she had for her family was boundless. She was a dedicated and loving mother to her three children Art, Diane and Chris.

She loved vacationing in Maine, both recently and when her family was young. She loved her pugs and watching the deer and turkey come down the mountain.

Elsie now joins her husband Arthur Short in eternal life.

She will also be deeply missed by her son-in-law and daughter-in-law, John & Barbara, and her grandchildren Artie, Kelly, Billy, Joseph, Jimmy, Timmy, Cheri, Joe, Christina, Alex, Emily, Bruce, Sharon, BJ and Ray. She is also survived by four great-grandchildren, Elizabeth, Brody, Julianna and Brayden, brother Charles and sisters-in-law Barbara and Jane. The hole left by her absence will be impossible to fill. Calling hours will be held from 3-5PM on Saturday, February 26, 2022, at the MacArthur Funeral Home, 134 Main Street, Delhi. Graveside services and burial will be held at Andes Cemetery in the spring.
