Ford Burdick

~~Ford A. Burdick, 72, of Bloomville, passed away suddenly Tuesday morning, September 5, 2017 at O’Connor Hospital, Delhi. Born on October 29, 1944 in Bloomville, He was the son of the late Frank and Gladys (Hitt) Burdick. Mr. Burdick worked on many local farms as a farm hand and mechanic, retiring from Burns Brothers Farms in Bovina Center. He married Belle (McGraw) Burdick on November 10, 1971, she passed away in 1998. Ford enjoyed deer hunting and camping. He loved being with family and friends, either playing cards or enjoying a family BBQ. He will be remembered for his generous nature, offering the shirt off his back to anyone in need. Besides his wife Belle, Ford was also predeceased by his companion Anne Sullivan and his siblings: Leonard, Elsie, Mildred, Edna and Marion. Ford is survived by his children: Carol (William Smith) Moxham of Delhi, Cathy (John) Sobers of Oneonta, William (Sarah) McLean of E. Meredith and Gail (John) Sola of OH; one brother: Alden (Janice) Burdick of Bloomville; nine grandchildren; several great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins. The Burdick family would like to thank Mark and Leighann Robinson for the exceptional care given to Ford. Funeral services will be held at 3PM on Saturday, September 9, 2017 at the First Baptist Church, 21 2nd Street, Delhi, where friends and relatives are invited to call on the family from 1-3pm prior to the service at the church.
