Frances Shepard

Frances W. Shepard, went to be with her Lord on Tuesday evening, February 6, 2018 at her home in DeLancey. Born on July 28, 1956 in Brooklyn, Frances was the daughter of the late Walter J. and Grace W. (Sudano) Menhinick, Sr. She was raised in Milford, CT, until her family moved to East Meredith. She was a 1986 graduate of SUNY Delhi with a degree in Nursing. She worked as a Registered Nurse first with O’Connor Hospital then with Delaware County ARC, and later she enjoyed being a home maker. Frances was married to Wayne L. Shepard on April 4, 1987 in Oneonta. She enjoyed baking, crafts, card stamping, quilting, home decorating, canning and with Wayne planning flower beds and gardens around their home, however Frances’s greatest passion was her devotion to God, she was a faithful 28-year member of the First Baptist Church in Delhi, where she was president of the Esther’s Circle Women’s Ministry. Besides her husband Wayne, Frances is survived by her siblings: Suzanne (John) Janitz of Mt. Vision, Gary (Kristin) Menhinick of East Meredith and Walter “Jamie” Menhinick, Jr. of Delhi; mother-in-law: Linda Shepard; sister-in-law: Cathy Schriver; brother-in-law: Randy (Kim) Shepard; nieces & nephews: Melissa, John, Christopher, Miranda, Noah, Lynn, Jeremy, Savannah, Amanda, Chandler and Josh; several grandnieces & nephews; and several cousins. Friends and relatives are invited to call on the family from 10am -12 noon on Saturday, February 10, 2018 at the First Baptist Church, corner of Division and 2nd Street, Delhi. Where a funeral service will follow at noon with the Rev. Jeff Staples officiating. Graveside services and burial will take place at 11:30AM on Friday, June 22, 2018 at Hamden Cemetery.
