Francis "Frank" Grogan, 93, of Oneonta passed away on Tuesday, April 19, 2016 at Robinson Terrace Nursing Home in Stamford. Born on January 8, 1923 in Mt. Kisco, Frank was the son of the late Michael and Edith (Sands) Grogan. Frank served in the US Navy during World War II, following his honorable discharge he continued to work for the Navy at the Brooklyn Navy Yard for over twenty years. He later worked for the South Nassau Hospital in Oceanside as a Refrigeration Engineer until his retirement. He also served with the Air Force Reserves for many years. He was married to Joan Ellen (Grisbach) Grogan, who survives. Frank was naturally handy and could repair just about anything. He was a skilled carpenter and often worked on building and repair projects around his home. He enjoyed summer vacations, where trips to Maine were an annual event for the Grogan family and following his retirement Frank and Joan enjoyed traveling together. Besides his wife Joan, Frank is survived by two sons: Peter (Kathleen) Grogan of Hernando, FL and Michael (Christine) Grogan of Novato, CA; grandchildren: Corinna Grogan and her fiancée, Isaac DeWever of Rumney, NH, Joshua Grogan of Sacramento, CA, Sean Grogan of Sacramento, CA, and Dustin (Angela) Grogan of Delmar; one brother: Michael Grogan of Gilboa; and a sister: Caroline (Larry) Natalie of Gilboa. Frank was predeceased by two brothers: James and Thomas Grogan. A celebration of life will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, June 25 at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 240 Lincoln Avenue, Rockville Centre, NY. Graveside services will be held at 11AM on Monday, June 27, 2016 at Long Island National Cemetery, 2040 Wellwood Avenue, Farmingdale, NY \ Contributions in memory of Frank may be made to Catskill Area Hospice, 1 Birchwood Dr., Oneonta, NY 13820
