Fred Spannhake

HAMDEN _ Fred Spannhake, 75, formerly of Hamden, passed away at Mountainside Residential Care Center, Margaretville, on Friday, June 10, 2011. He was born March 25, 1936, in Brooklyn, the son of Herman and Meta (True) Spannhake. He was married to Sandra Furgerson for 12 years. She predeceased him in 2000. A custodian at Countryside Care, Delhi, he loved to talk to people and always displayed a great sense of humor. He is survived by a brother, Hank Spannhake of Oklahoma; and very close friends, Robert and Karin Backus of East Meredith. There will be no funeral or calling hours.
