Freda Johnson

Freda Johnson, 85, of Stamford passed away on Thursday, August 9, 2018 at St. Peter’s Hospital in Albany. Born on January 31, 1933, she was the daughter of the late Samuel and Freda (Hassler) Hickey. She was married to the late Howard Johnson. Mrs. Johnson worked for many years as an accounting clerk for the J.C. Penney Company in Oneonta until her retirement. She enjoyed reading, watching Jeopardy on TV, playing cards/solitary. She loved vacationing with her daughter and grandchildren to[SL1] Maine, where she enjoyed the blueberries and seafood, Freda’s greatest joy was her family; her children and grandchildren were very special to her. Besides her parents and husband, Freda was predeceased by her siblings: Bobby, James, Tommy, Margaret, Marion, Edward and Harold. She is survived by her children: Howard (Gerry) Johnson of Kissimmee, FL, Wayne (June) Johnson of Stamford, NY and Jill Loftus of Ft. Montgomery, NY; grandchildren: Sarah and Dillion Loftus both of Ft. Montgomery, NY; siblings: John Hickey of Staten Island, NY, Jayne Hickey of Stamford and Donald Hickey of Stamford; several nieces and nephews, including Dawn Snyder whom Freda was particularly close.
