Gail Laura Pedri,72, of Gilboa, passed away on Wednesday, April 1, 2026, at Bassett Medical Center in Cooperstown, NY
Born in West Point, New York in 1953, she lived a life defined by compassion, creativity, and an appreciation for life’s simple joys. A proud graduate of North Rockland High School, class of 1972, she carried with her a strong sense of community and kindness that would shape the years to come.
After marrying, she made her home in Gilboa, New York, where she embraced a peaceful life devoted to family, nature, and coffee. There, she raised her children and created a home filled with warmth, beauty, and love.
She dedicated her professional life to nursing, a career she cherished deeply. Her patients were more than those she cared for—they were people she connected with, comforted, and advocated for with genuine empathy. Her compassion and steady presence left a lasting impression on countless lives.
Outside of her work, she was an artist at heart. She found joy in painting and drawing, often capturing the beauty she saw in the world around her. She loved gardening and nurturing flowers, taking pride in the colors and life they brought to her home. She had a fondness for Airstreams and the sense of adventure and simplicity they represented. Her beloved Yorkies brought her endless happiness, and she was always seeking ways to make everyday moments more beautiful and meaningful.
She is lovingly remembered by her son, Michael Pedri, and his wife Paulina of Brooklyn, New York, along with their daughter, Daphne Pedri; her daughter, Erika Pedri Santiago, and her husband Arturo Santiago of San Francisco, California, along with their cherished dogs, Sadie and Olive; and her brother, Gary Anderson, and his wife Gloria of Jefferson, New York.
Her life was a testament to care and creativity. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered by those who knew and loved her.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to Make-A-Wish Foundation or Abraham House, Inc., (Hospice House - Utica and Rome, New York).
