George Hatch, Jr.

It is with deep sorrow that we share the news of the unexpected, yet peaceful passing of George Hatch Jr on July 7, 2021, at the age of 80. George is survived by his wife of 58 years, Judith, their three grown children; Jennifer Boyle, Stephanie Danetz, and Russell Hatch, three grandchildren, and sister, Elaine McCaffrey. George was born in Connecticut to George and Irene Hatch. He graduated from Pine Plains High School in New York, and then received a Bachelor's degree from Cornell University. He was a dairy farmer with his wife until his retirement, and then enjoyed woodworking in his retirement. George was a voracious reader, he loved history and science, canoeing in the Adirondacks, and debating current issues. His proudest moments were spending time with his children and grandchildren and seeing their accomplishments. He will be missed dearly by his family and friends. The family is planning a private memorial service. If you would like to make donations in his name, please make them to the Stamford Fire Department.
