Grace Penny

Grace Louise Penny, 97, of Delhi, passed away on August 5, 2018 at O’Connor Hospital in Delhi. Born on October 3, 1920 in Danville, PA, the daughter of the late Edwin and Hazel (Weidman) Langewisch. Mrs. Penny was married to Dr. Kenneth E. Penny on December 8, 1944, in the Naval Chapel in Port Smith, VA during his service in WWII. The couple enjoyed 73 years together, raising their family in Syracuse, retiring to Florida and returning to Delhi about 20 years ago. Grace enjoyed sewing, crafts and ceramics. She was an avid bird watcher and will be remembered by her grandchildren as a magical story teller. Besides her husband, she is survived by four children: Janice (Joe) Whittaker of DeLancey, Keith Penny (Dawn Donovan) of Syracuse, Diane (Dan) Fricano of Syracuse and Mark (Wendy) Penny of Ilion; nine grandchildren: Jenna, Jennifer, Daniel, Sarah, Nicole, Monica, Brittany, Hannah and Brock; and eight great-grandchildren. Friends and family are invited to a celebration of Grace’s life at 2PM on Saturday, October 6, 2018 at New Hope Church, 45 Stockton Ave., Walton, with the Rev. Larry Light celebrant.
