Harold J. Johnson

Harold J. Johnson, 77, of Harpersfield, passed away Sunday morning, June 22, 2025 at Bassett Medical Center in Cooperstown.

Born on October 1, 1947 in Brooklyn, NY, the son of the late Harold and Frances Johnson.

Harold retired from Mallinckrodt Pharmaceuticals in Hobart.

He was an outdoorsman, Harold enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping. Harold liked Western shows and movies, often enjoying an episode of Gunsmoke. He also enjoyed his carrier pigeons, but Harolds greatest joy was his family, he was a devoted husband, loving father and proud grandfather and great-grandfather.

Besides his parents, Harold was predeceased by a son: Daniel Johnson on July 28, 1990.

He is survived by his wife: Angela Johnson of Harpersfield; children: Steven (Florence Kaiser) Johnson of Jefferson, Christopher (Regina) Johnson of East Stroudsburg, PA and Eric (Katie) Johnson of Oneonta; four grandchildren: Breanna Albanese, Daniel Johnson, Christopher Johnson and Adrian Johnson; four great-grandchildren: Vincent, Charlie, Rocco and Olivia; two brothers: Arthur (Deborah) Johnson of Jersey Shore, NJ and Gerald (Barbara) Johnson of Hamden, NY; along with several nieces, nephews and cousins.

A celebration of Harold’s life will be held from 3-5PM on Wednesday, July 2, 2025, at the MacArthur Funeral Home, 15 Buntline Drive, Stamford, NY, where prayers and time of sharing will be held at 5PM.
