Hugh Stowe

STAMFORD Hugh C. Stowe, 87, of Stamford passed away on Monday, March 24, 2014 at AO Fox Hospital, Oneonta. He was born on September 9, 1926 in Oneonta, the son of Melvin C. and Helen (Calhoun) Stowe, also of Oneonta. He married Betty J. Moore on May 25, 1946 in Hobart. She predeceased him in August 2009. He was also predeceased by a great-grandson, Noah Sprague in August 2011 and a son in law, Larry Burgher in March 2004. He was formerly employed by Victory Markets, Stamford, for 20+ years working in various positions. He had been a resident of Robinson Terrace in Stamford for the past 7 ½ years where he married Jacalyn Morby on April 9, 2011, also a resident of Robinson terrace. She survives. He is also survived by a daughter, Kathy (Tom) Hoyt of Sidney; 2 grandchildren, Susan Burgher of Oxford and William C. (Brandi) Sprague of Hermitage, TN; a sister, Barbara Gilbert of Robinson Terrace; a nephew, Marc (Michele) Gilbert of Stamford; four great grandchildren, Caidence, Gavin, and Jenavieve Sprague of Hermitage, TN and Ezekial Burgher of Oxford. There will be a memorial service at Robinson Terrace on April 12, 2014 at 2 p.m. for anyone who would like to attend.
