Ida Bassani

Ida Bassani, 99, of Stamford, passed away early Friday morning, March 9, 2018 at home following a long illness. She was born on January 11, 1919 in Hamden. Ida was a gifted cook and baker, over the years she worked as cook and waitress at various restaurants and diners including the Creekside in Grand Gorge. She was known for her chicken and biscuits and everyone enjoyed her pies always made from scratch. She is survived by two children: Geraldine Bassani and Richard Bassani both of Stamford; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Ida was predeceased by her husband, Bruno Bassani in 1997. She was also predeceased by her siblings, Marshall, Frances, Irene and Isabell. A funeral service will be held at 2PM on Tuesday, March 13, 2018 at the MacArthur Funeral Home, 40 Cornell Ave., Hobart. Burial will take place at Sacred Heart Cemetery, Stamford.
