Iva Crone

Iva Irene Crone, 87 of Hobart, NY passed away on Saturday, October 18, 2015 at Robinson Terrrace Nursing Home. She was born March 30, 1928, in Cornwallville, NY the daughter of Hazel Irene (Yale) and Harold Turk. Iva enjoyed membership in the Cornwallville Church (now at the Farmer's Museum, Cooperstown, NY), Conesville Methodist Church and the St. Peter's Episcopal Church in Hobart. She served on the Election Board; the Conesville Fireman's Auxiliary and Hobart Fireman's Auxiliary; and the Woman's Circle, Ladies Home Bureau, and Hobart Hobby Club. She was predeceased by her parents; her brother Ivan Turk; her husbands, John Bradley Stewart and Kenneth Crone Sr.; her son Wayne Bradley Stewart; grandson, Michael Stewart; great-grandson Lewis Costa Jr., and her lifelong friends, Helen (Hoyt) and Glen Kaufman. Iva is survived by her daughter, Diana Parton, Ronald Parton, Hobart and Apison, TN; her son, Walter Stewart, Yang Cha Stewart, Green Cove Springs, FL; her daughter Dawn Cook, Oneonta and her daughter-in-law, Mary (Kosier) Stewart; 11 Grandchildren, 15 Great-Grandchildren; several nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews. Calling hours will take place on Wednesday evening October 21 from 7-9 at the MacArthur Funeral Home, Hobart, NY. Funeral Services will be on Thursday, October 22, 2015 at 11:00 AM in the funeral home with Rev. Bert More officiating. Contributions in her memory may be made to Hospice, Heart of the Catskills Humane Society, Delhi, Gilboa NY Museum or the Conesville Fire Department.
