Andes, NY Janis Lynn Jacques, 68, of Andes passed away July 9, 2014 in Cooperstown. She was born January 8, 1946, the daughter of Lynworth E. and Marjorie J. Jacques who both predeceased her. She graduated from Andes Central School, class of 1964. Janis Lynn spent her earlier years after high school as a waitress at local restaurant including the Andes Hotel. She was also a bookkeeper for several local businesses. For the past few years she served the town she loved as Andes Town Clerk. In her retirement, she enjoyed trips to the casino, mowing her lawn and enjoying the company of family and friends. She had also been a loving caregiver to her aunt, Janis Reynolds for many years. She is survived by brothers: Lyn (Gladys) Jacques of Walton and Daniel Jacques of Delhi; sisters: Kim (Joseph) Brown of Margaretville and JoAnn (Ronald) Boerner of Andes. Also surviving is her aunt, Janis Reynolds of Andes and a special sister-in-law, Nancy Jacques of Delhi, as well as many nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews and cousins. A funeral service will be held at 11AM on Monday, July 14, at the Andes United Presbyterian Church, Andes, with the Rev. Bert More officiating. Friends are invited to call one hour prior to the service at church. Burial will follow the service at Andes Cemetery. Memorial Contributions in Janis's memory may be made to the Heart of the Catskills Humane Sociey or The Alzheimer's Association of NY. Funeral arrangements are with Hall & Peet Funeral Home, Delhi.
