Jean Alverson

Jean Iva Alverson, 95, of Delhi, NY, passed away at her home on December 17, 2025, following a short illness.

Jean was born in New York City on March 27, 1930.

She retired from SUNY Delhi where she worked as a secretary in various departments over the years.

Jean was a devoted member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Delhi. She was also an active member of the Delhi Senior Citizen’s Club and was a representative with the Delaware County Senior Council over the years.

She was predeceased by two sons: Richard and Thomas Alverson.

Jean is survived by her children: Steven Alverson of Delhi, David Alverson of Delhi, Ann Kelley of Currie, NC, June Fraser of Delhi and Daniel Alverson of Ann Arbor, MI; ten grandchildren: Stephanie, Beth, Ryan, Jack, Garrett, Melissa, Lindsey, Dylan, Rachel and Kyle; along with several great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.

A memorial service and celebration of Jean’s life will be held at 11AM on Monday, December 22, 2025 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 565 Andes Road, Delhi, NY.
