Jeanette Dewitt

Jeanette DeWitt, 90, of Delhi, passed away on Tuesday, February 27, 2024 at Robinson Terrace Nursing Home.

Born on May 16, 1933 in Gainesville, GA, Jeanette was the daughter of the late Charles L. and Cleo (Walker) Cox.

She was married to Edward DeWitt for 67 years until his passing in 2018.

Jeanette was employed by SUNY Delhi on the custodial staff for over 30 years until her retirement.

She was a dedicated member of the Delhi Fire Department and EMS squad for over 50 years.

Besides her husband and parents, Jeanette was predeceased by her son Edward C. DeWitt and a sister Ethel May.

She is survived by her daughters: Rochelle (Daniel) Lynch, Gail (Pierson)Smith and Donna (Philip) Elena; her grandchildren: Christopher Elena, Stephanie Lynch, Elizabeth DeWitt and Tre' Smith; and great-grandchildren Madison and Mason Elena, Lucianna and Brayson Arenas; and a brother: Charlie Cox.

A private graveside service was held on September 26, 2024 at Woodland Cemetery, Delhi.
