John Bauer

DELHI John Bauer, Jr., 92, of Spring Valley Road, died Thursday, May 16, 2013 at home in Delhi. He married Deborah Burt on July 26, 1949 in Greenport, Long Island. She predeceased him on August 25, 2008. John was a WWII Veteran, avid fisherman, carpenter, cabinet maker and worked as a custodian at Delaware Academy. After retiring, John and Deb traveled and canoed extensively in the Adirondacks, returning home to mow the lawn, pay the bills and head out again. He is survived by 4 daughters, Ella (Dan) Ladlee, Ruth (Jim) Scofield, Cindy Bauer (Gerry Schaffner), and Mary (Dan) Johnson; 4 sons, John E. (Judy) Bauer, Larry (Alyce) Bauer, David (Christine) Bauer, and Russell Bauer (Linda Perry); numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; and 1 sister, Frances Samal of CT.
