Joseph C. Welch

Joseph C. Welch, 94, of Stamford, NY, formerly of Harpersfield, passed away on Friday, February 27, 2026, at Robinson Terrace.

Born on July 4, 1931, in Philadelphia, PA, Joseph was the son of the late Joseph E. and Margaret (Bell) Welch.

He proudly served in the US Army, serving from 1954 until his honorable discharge in 1956.

Joseph was a self-employed contractor, living in Brooklyn and working in the greater New York City area. Following his retirement, he moved up the Catskills, first to Livingston Manor then to Harpersfield.

He enjoyed fishing, the outdoors, collectables, chess, television, movies, and cooking. He also enjoyed sports such as baseball, often taking his son to both Yankee and Mets games over the years.

Besides his parents, Joseph was predeceased by his wife: Annette (Bogutzski) Welch; and his sisters: Dorothy Buczak, JoAnne Ross and Janet Parisi.

He is survived by his children: Suzanne Welch, Pamela Welch, and Joseph Welch, Jr.

A Mass will be held at 1:30PM on Friday, March 6, 2026, at Sacred Heart Church, 27 Harper Street, Stamford, with the Rev. Paul Mijas celebrant.  Military honors will follow the mass.
