Judith H. Ford

On August 28, 2026, our family’s rock, Judith H. Ford, passed peacefully at the age of 84, surrounded by family.

She has now been beautifully reunited with the love of her life, her husband Robert “Bob” Ford, and her daughter, Nancy, both who predeceased her.

Judi grew up in and around Hamden, New York, with her parents, Irving and Myrtle (Miller) Hubbard. She loved to point out places around the village and share stories of where she had lived throughout her childhood.

Judi and Bob eventually settled in DeLancey, NY, where they raised their three daughters: Tonda, Nancy, and Lisa. Family was always at the absolute center of Judi’s world. She was not only a devoted mother to her daughters, but she also became a second mother to many of their friends, extending her love, guidance, strength, and compassion far beyond the boundaries of blood.

As her family grew, Judi became a beloved grandmother and great-grandmother. She leaves behind her grandchildren Joseph, Kelly, Caitlyn, Patrick, Rodney, Samantha, Robert, and Alexis Jude, as well as numerous great-grandchildren and countless others who were fortunate enough to know her as “Grandma Judi.” To know her was to know a woman of fierce devotion, sharp wit, and deep compassion. She never missed a birthday, an achievement, or a milestone. She was always there to celebrate. Whether it was a graduation, a birthday party, a family BBQ, or simply gathering together, Judi showed up.

She took enormous pride in the people she loved and celebrated their successes as though they were her own. She was a constant, powerful presence in the lives of her family — a source of encouragement, unconditional love, and plenty of stories. She loved being surrounded by people and could turn an ordinary afternoon into an event simply by sitting down and talking. If you knew Judi, chances are you heard a story or two, and if you didn’t, there was a good chance you eventually became part of one.

For the past 15 years, Judi made her home in Delhi, New York, where she enjoyed time with friends and neighbors and became a familiar face at the senior community center, especially during bingo and gab fest. Judi will be remembered for her strength, humor, and enormous heart. She was the kind of woman who held a family together—not by asking anyone to be perfect, but simply by loving them exactly as they were. Her legacy of strength and unconditional love will remain our guide forever. Though our hearts are heavy with her passing, we find comfort knowing that she is finally at rest and at peace. Her stories will be told, her traditions will continue, and the love she gave so freely will live on in every generation that follows.

A celebration of Judi’s beautiful life will be held on September 13, 2026, from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Hamden Town Hall. Family and friends are invited to come together to share stories, laugh, reminisce, and celebrate the incredible woman we were so fortunate to call Mom and Grandma Judi. She spent her life making room for everyone; now it’s our turn to gather together and celebrate her.
