Kenneth Rockwell

STAMFORD Kenneth C. Rockwell Sr., 89, of Stamford, passed away on Tuesday, Nov. 8, 2011, at A.O. Fox Memorial Hospital, Oneonta. He was born Feb. 17, 1922, in Gilsum, N.H., the son of George and Helen (Chapin) Rockwell. Mr. Rockwell married Elsie Stevens Rockwell on Nov. 3, 1951, a 60-year marriage. He was employed by Catskill Craftsman, Stamford; Greendell Packing, Prattsville; and Parnett Packing, Bloomville. Kenneth loved to play pitch; woodworking; gardening and horseshoes. He is survived by his wife, Elsie at home; his children, Ken (Sue) Mattice, Prattsville, Jim (Dawn) Mattice, Grand Gorge, Shirley (Dick) Loucks, Bloomville, Sandy (Richard) Martin, Ballston Spa, Ronda (Rick) Frazee, Stamford, Nancy (John) Rice, Stamford and Ken (Sandy) Rockwell Jr., Stamford; two sisters, Arlene and Margie; and many grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two sisters, Ruby and Dorothy; and two brothers, Donald and Clayton. Graveside Prayer services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 12, 2011, in Fairlawn Cemetery, Prattsville, with the Rev. Bert More officiating.
