Kevin W. Bedient, 62, passed away Tuesday, April 21, 2026 in Albany, NY due to ongoing medical complications. He was surrounded by his loving family. 

Kevin was born on July 29, 1963 in Oneonta, NY to Jeanette Tibbetts and William Bedient. Kevin spent most of his life in Delhi, NY before residing in Otego, NY.

Kevin was a loving partner to Dawn Bennett and a devoted father to Devon Bedient (Megan Balcom), Sierra Bedient (Liam Brown), and Austin Bedient. He also cherished his role in the lives of Dawn’s children Catherine and Robert Stevens (Alyssa, Tori, Robynne), Tim and Gabrielle Evan (Cooper, Kolton), Cheyenne and Tim Davis (Brock, Thea), Willow. 

He is survived by his sister: Kim Bedient (Steven Tibbetts, Jennifer and Matt Jones, Austin, Aiden, Ashton, Kristy and Marlon Colon, Yesenia, Chase, Christopher and Katie Bedient, Makayla, Mayson), his sister: Susan Chamberlain (Stacy Chaimberlain, Alexia, Carmen, Mya, llIjah, Heather Noren, Benjamin, Brensen, Brayden), his sister: Lisa Bedient (Ashley Kay, Joshua and Jonathan), his brother: Christopher Maney (Deanna, Marisa, Justine, Danny, Riley, Shelby, Peyton, Keegan, Avery), John Maney (Cooper) and his sister: Mary Maney (Greg Lunn, Abby) as well as his lifelong friend, Joannie Bedient. Kevin also leaves behind many beloved nieces, nephews, and grandchildren, who will all carry on his memory. Kevin also leaves behind many close friends, including Jeff, Roger, Mike and Katrina, Kelly, Sam, John, Ron, and so many more. 

Kevin was preceded in death by his parents Jeanette Tibbets and WIlliam Bedient. 

Kevin had a dedicated career in education as a teacher at Delaware Academy for 35 years, where he made a lasting impact on countless students. He also coached football, baseball, softball, and wrestling, sharing his passion for sports and mentorship with generations of athletes. One of his proudest accomplishments was helping lead one of the first high school wrestling teams on a trip to Russia in 1993. 

Outside of work, Kevin found joy in cooking—especially hibachi meals on his Blackstone—kayaking, bowling, traveling, following sports, especially to support his favorite team the Commanders. Above all, he loved supporting his children in everything they did and took immense pride in being a dedicated father and partner. 

Friends and relatives are invited to call on the family from 1-4pm on Sunday, April 26, at MacArthur Funeral Home, 134 Main St., Delhi, NY. A graveside funeral service will take place on Monday, April 27, at 3:00 p.m. at Woodland Cemetery, Delhi for close friends and relatives.  A celebration of life will follow from 4:00–7:00 p.m. at the Delhi Fire Department all are welcome to attend.
