Kevin D. Wood

Kevin D. Wood, 69, of Stamford, NY, passed away on Saturday evening, February 21, 2026, at home surrounded by his family.

Born on September 4, 1956, in Nyack, NY, Kevin was the son of the late Donald Wood and Shirley Ann (Riker) Wood.

He proudly served in the US Army from 1974 until his honorable discharge in 1976.

Kevin was married to his devoted wife Christine (Green) Wood, the couple moved to Stamford in 1990 and began building their loving family.

He was a mechanic for Mallinckrodt in Hobart, working with them for over 23 years until his retirement in 2021.

Kevin was deeply family-oriented and loved the outdoors. Very few things mattered more to Kevin than the wellbeing of his loved ones.

He is survived by his wife: Christine Wood of Stamford; children: Crystal (Michael Soto) Marroon of Arizona, Melanie (Christian Whitfield) Thompson of Stamford and Raymond (Emily Miller) Wood of Michigan; his mother: Shirley Wood of Highland Falls, NY; sisters: Donna Wood of New Paltz, NY and Karen Wood of Highland Falls, NY; along with several nieces, nephews and cousins.

A celebration of Kevin’s life is being planned for the summer and will be announced.
