Larry Peterson

Larry H Peterson of Delhi, NY passed away at his home on Tuesday, September 22,2026

Larry was born on August 1, 1952 in Stamford, NY and grew up in North Harpersfield, NY, he was the son of the late Olaf Peterson and Marguerite Bedford Peterson

He worked in the farming community both for others and for himself from a young age. Including a stint at the former Dream Street farms where he was considered a master herdsman. He shared his knowledge with many and inspired young employees to do the job right and to use that experience to further themselves in the future.

For many years he drove truck. Usually picking up milk from farmers and transporting to local creameries or to NYC for tractor trailer loads.

Larry was an experienced welder and mechanic. He was also a carpenter who could do anything. He would transform houses from near ruin back to the beauty they had originally been.

His ability to look at a problem, assess what needed to be done to fix it and get it done was a sight to behold. Always armed with a quick wit and sense of humor tinged with a bit of sarcasm he was a great friend and confidant to many.

To his family he was Dad, little brother, cousin, Unc.

Larry is survived by his daughter: Lisa of Delhi, NY; son: Erik (Pete) of Bloomville, NY; sister: Jane Peters of Florida, NY; nieces: Alison Peters Miller, Emily Facer Hurt and Erica Facer; along with several cousins.

Besides his parents, Larry was predeceased by his brother: Harry Peterson; his sister: Joyce Facer; and his nephew: Jason Peters.

Larry had a calming disposition that grounded those around him. He never seemed to get overwhelmed. He was a mentor to many.

Recently he had pretty much stopped working. He enjoyed sitting on the glider on his front porch. Watching the birds and listening to the brook. It was peaceful and nobody deserved that bit of peace more than him.

His passing has left a void in the family. His smiling face and quick laugh will live on in the hearts of those who love him forever.

In accordance with Larry’s wishes there will be no calling hours or funeral services.

Rest in peace ☮️
