Lee Gary Archibald

Lee Gary Archibald, 80, of Delhi, passed away peacefully on Thursday evening, December 14, 2023, at the VA Medical Center in Montrose, NY following a long illness.


Born on October 1, 1943, in Delhi, the son of the late Marvin T. and Eleanor (Burns) Archibald.


Lee grew up in Bovina and was a graduate of Delaware Academy where he was active in Student Council, and was a three-sport athlete in Track, Cross Country, and Basketball. He then went on to graduate from SUNY Delhi and then went on to graduate with a Business Degree from Rocky Mountain College in Billings, Montana.


He proudly served in the US Army from 1967 until his honorable discharge in 1970.


Lee was a member of the Bovina United Presbyterian Church.


He is survived by his sisters: Kay (Kevin) Collins of Delhi and Joan Townsend of Delhi; Aunt: Frances Burns; nephews: Elliott Townsend, Ian Townsend, Jacob Collins, and Calob Collins; grandnieces: Avery and Emily Townsend; grandnephews: Caelon and Owen Townsend.


A graveside service will full military honors will be held at 2:30PM on Friday, May 10 at Bovina Cemetery, Bovina, NY
