~~Leo C. Parys, 90, of Stamford, passed away early Sunday morning, September 3, 2017 at Robinson Terrace. Born on April 9, 1927, Leo was the son of the late Peter and Florence (Moore) Parys. He was raised in the Stamford area and attended Stamford Central School. Leo proudly served in the US Army during the Korean War. Following his honorable discharge, Mr. Parys moved to Hatboro, Pa, where he worked as an attendant at his brother Lou’s Sonoco station until his retirement. In 2002, he moved back to Stamford. Besides his parents, Leo was predeceased by two brothers: William and Jerome Parys; sister: Marguerite Stanton; and two brothers-in-law: Richard Pickett and Ralph Stanton. Leo is survived by his brothers: Louis (Ruth) Parys of Holden Beach, NC and Charles Parys of Stamford; sisters: Julia Pickett of Grand Gorge and Mary (Al) Orlowski of Valatie; several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM on Friday, September 8, 2017 at the Sacred Heart Church, Stamford, with the Rev. Michael Cambi celebrant. Relatives and friends are invited to call on the family one hour prior to the Mass at Sacred Heart Church. Burial with full military honors will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery, Stamford.
