Leslie Hood

Leslie D. (Ambler) Hood, 57, of Hobart, passed away on Friday morning, January 20, 2017 at her home surrounded by her family. Born on August 10, 1959 in Seattle, WA, she was the daughter of the late Warren and June (Morgan) Ambler. Mrs. Hood proudly served in the US Army from 1977 until her honorable discharge in 1978 She was an active volunteer for the American Red Cross, often being deployed to national disasters throughout the country, often working on logistics in their operations. Leslie enjoyed sewing, reading and her family, she was a devoted wife, proud mother and loving grandmother. She was predeceased by her grandchild, Taylor Brinkerhoff-Hood. Leslie is survived by her husband: Frederick R. Hood of Hobart; one daughter: Bethany Brinkerhoff and husband, Jon of Hobart; grandchildren: Alexis and Kaitlyn Brinkerhoff-Hood; sister: Bonnie; two brothers: Jack and Dennis Ambler; and several nieces. Graveside services with full military honors will be held in the spring at Locust Hill Cemetery, Hobart. Arrangements are under the direction of MacArthur Funeral Home, Hobart,
