Lorraine R. Bivona

Lorraine Rita Bivona, RN, 78, of Jefferson, NY, passed away on Friday evening, May 29, 2026 at Bassett Medical Center.

Lorraine was born on June 22, 1947 in New York City. Lorraine met the love of her life, William “Bill” Bivona at Pete’s Deli in Uniondale, NY. The two wed on July 4, 1965 and were married for the next 58 years, until Bill passed away on May 3, 2024.

Mrs. Bivona was a Registered Nurse for many years, working at several health care facilities in the area, retiring from the former Countryside Care Center in Delhi.

She was steadfast in her faith and was a devoted member of the Calvary Full Gospel Fellowship in Jefferson, Lorraine enjoyed her church family and could often be found reading scripture in her bible. However, her greatest passion was her family, she was a devoted wife, loving mother, and proud grandmother and great-grandmother.

Lorraine is survived by her children: William Bivona Jr. (Christine) of Jefferson, NY; Robert Bivona (Jaqueline) of Schenectady, NY; Dwayne Bivona (Karen) of Wichita Falls, TX; Josie Pyenta (Paul) of Tuscola, TX and Andrew Bivona (Michele) of Jefferson NY. She also has fourteen grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and a brother: Robert Behrman.

A service will be held at 2PM on Friday, June 5, 2026 at Calvary Full Gospel Fellowship, 573 Moxley Street, Jefferson, NY 12093. Private burial will be at Jefferson Evergreen Cemetery, Jefferson, NY. A celebration of Lorraine’s life will follow the service at the Jefferson Fire Hall, Jefferson, NY.
