Lucille A. Ford

Lucille A "Lucy" Ford, born September 24, 1944, passed away from a cardiac event on Thursday September 25, 2025, at the age of 81.

She was born in Teaneck, NJ to Walter and Emily Schneider, grew up in Pearl River, NY. She moved to Woodstock in 1962, and her father owned a soda fountain at a corner store in Woodstock.

Lucy attended SUNY Delhi and then married Donald Eugene Ford in 1964 in Woodstock, NY. She worked for many years alongside him in his veterinary practice, and then for several years following his demise in administrative roles at Benedictine Hospital Ramapo Camp in Rhinebeck and then B.O.C.E.S. She lived in Hobart, NY with her longtime partner, George Michaelides of over 30 years.

She loved to read and watch movies where she never forgot a face. Lucille could name any actor she had seen, and we could always ask her who they were and what they had been in when we were watching a movie. She loved to travel to all the National Parks out west and she loved her Catskill mountains. Her green thumb was evident by the plethora of plants she was caring for. Lucille loved her sweets, especially her ice cream and Pepperidge Farm Chessmen cookies. Although she was quiet and introverted, she loved to drive fast on country roads. Ultimately, though, she was a kind, gentle and loyal soul.

Besides her parents, Lucille was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 20 years: Donald Eugene Ford of Scarsdale, NY.

She is survived by her longtime partner: George Michaelides of Hobart, NY; her daughter: Amy Ford, of Pittboro, NC; and her sister: Barbara Shultis, of Woodstock, Georgia.
