Martha Jones

Martha Rose Jones, 86, of Delhi and Herkimer, passed away early Tuesday morning, June 7, 2016 at Chestnut Park Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Oneonta. Born on March 29, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Wellington and Edith (Walley) Green. Martha was a homemaker and also did cleaning for several clients in the Delhi area. She was married to Herman H. Jones, Jr. on May 12, 1946, a union that lasted 46 years until Herman's passing on May 23, 1992. Martha is survived by one son: Donald W. Jones of Delhi; one daughter: Carol Edna Springer of Herkimer; four grandchildren: William, Rebecka, David and Harold; one sister: Betty Smith of Walton; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides her husband, Martha was predeceased by a son: Harold L. Jones on March 25, 1987; a sister: Mary Palmatier; and one brother: John Green. Graveside services will be held at 2PM on Friday, June 17, 2016 at Ouleout Valley Cemetery, Franklin with the Rev. Darius Mojallali and Rev. Jill Stellman officiating.
