Mary Harder, 81, of East Meredith, passed away on Friday, January 2, 2026, at her home following a short illness.
Born June 1, 1944, in Barton, VT, Mary was the daughter of the late Charles and Arlene (Masey) Clough.
She worked for many years as a Certified Nursing Assistant, both in private care and for the former Countryside Care, Fox Nursing Home and Robinson Terrace.
Mary married the love of her life, Everett Harder, on her birthday, June 1, 2001.
She enjoyed watching old movies and tv shows especially Little House on the Prairie and Gunsmoke. Mary was a fan of Elvis Presley. One of her favorite pastimes was watching birds and wildlife including the deer at her home. She also enjoyed spending time with her beloved dog, Misty Dawn.
Besides her parents, Mary was predeceased by two sons: Eric Ferguson and Ricky Ferguson.
She is survived by her husband: Everett Harder of East Meredith; children: Laurie (Thomas) Kennedy of Accord, NY, Tammie Favret of Oneonta, Joshua Ferguson of Delhi; seven grandchildren: Ashley Favret, Joelle Favret, Megan Kennedy, Thomas Kennedy, Jr., Eric Ferguson Jr., Jasmine Ferguson, and Samantha Ferguson; step-children: Jason (Geeta) Mazzara of Long Island, Jennifer (Travis) Baxter of North Carolina, Justin (Maria) Harder of Texas, Brittney (Franklin) Davis of Davenport and Brian (Rose) Harder of South Carolina; step-grandchildren: James, Elizabeth, Max and Ophelia Davis, Lordes and Ryan Harder; and three great-grandchildren: Julien, Xabria and Zadrien.
A celebration of Mary’s life is being planned for May 31, 2026, details will be announced at a future time.
